Private car service from Salt Lake City International Airport to Downtown Salt Lake City starts at $160 for a sedan and $160 for an SUV.
The run is short but it can be unpredictable. SLC airport sits about eight miles west of the central business district. Most trips use I-80 east to the I-15 south interchange, then exit at 600 South or 900 South depending on your hotel.
Roads we actually use
Our local affiliates know the airport exit pattern well. They usually pull out of the rideshare pickup lanes and head east on I-80. The I-80 to I-15 south transition is the standard path into downtown. For properties near Temple Square or the Salt Palace Convention Center, the 600 South exit works best. For the Hyatt Regency, Hilton City Center, or Eccles Theater, 900 South or State Street is cleaner.
Traffic by time of day
Morning rush into downtown runs heavy from 7:00 to 9:00 AM. Evening outbound congestion starts around 4:30 PM and lasts until 6:30 PM. A midday ride can take fifteen to twenty-five minutes. During rush hour, expect twenty-five to thirty-five minutes. Snow, a Delta Center event, or a convention at the Salt Palace can push that higher.
When to add buffer
Add ten to fifteen minutes if your flight lands between 7:30 and 9:00 AM or 4:30 and 6:30 PM. Add twenty minutes if there is a concert or Utah Jazz game at Delta Center. Sundance Film Festival traffic in late January rarely clogs this exact segment, but airport volume can slow pickup and curbside timing.
Vehicle options and pricing
Sedans start at a written flat rate for this route. SUVs start at $145 and are the better choice for groups of three or more, ski bags, or extended luggage. All rates are all-inclusive for the point-to-point service. Gratuity is not included and is at your discretion.
Who books this ride
Business travelers heading to the Salt Palace or a downtown hotel make up most of these bookings. We also handle airport transfers for guests of Temple Square, Abravanel Hall, and the Eccles Theater.
