What Hourly Charter Service Is
Hourly charter service gives you a vehicle and chauffeur for a fixed block of time. You control the itinerary, and the chauffeur waits between stops. Our dispatch team, headquartered in New York, dispatches hourly charters through vetted local affiliate operators in Salt Lake City. This option works well for multi-stop itineraries that cannot be priced as simple point-to-point trips. You pay for the time reserved, plus any parking or tolls incurred. Most clients prefer this model when they need flexibility for meetings, dinners, or events. I think hourly service is the best value when you have three or more stops in one day. You avoid multiple one-way charges and keep the same driver who knows your schedule.
Who Uses It in Salt Lake City
Event planners use hourly charters during Sundance Film Festival in January and Outdoor Retailer market weeks. Wedding parties book sedans or SUVs for photos around Temple Square, the Utah State Capitol, and City Creek Center. Real estate investors hire cars for a full day of property tours in Sugar House, the Avenues, and the Granary District. Tour groups use hourly charters to visit Red Butte Garden, Hogle Zoo, and the Natural History Museum of Utah in one loop. Medical families use hourly service for long appointment days at the University of Utah Hospital. Executive assistants use it for roadshows, investor meetings, and client dinners across the Wasatch Front. During ski season, groups charter SUVs for dinner trips from Park City to Salt Lake City and back.
How Pricing Works
Sedans start at $120 per hour with a three-hour minimum. SUVs start at $150 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Sprinter vans start at $240 per hour with a four-hour minimum. Luxury sedans and executive SUVs may start at higher hourly rates during Sundance week. Parking at venues such as the Salt Palace or Delta Center is billed separately. Overtime beyond the reserved block is charged in 30-minute increments. Gratuity is not included unless your company has a contract. We quote flat hourly rates, so the meter does not run based on miles.
One Honest Limitation
Traffic on I-15, I-80, and I-215 can extend travel time beyond what mapping apps predict. Winter weather in the canyons adds further uncertainty. We recommend padding your schedule by at least 15 minutes between appointments. If you run late, the chauffeur bills actual wait time. Late-night charters after midnight may carry a surcharge and limited affiliate availability. If your event runs long, we will extend the charter when possible, but the driver may have another booking.
